Teanaway Country 100M / 50M / 50K - Cle Elum, WA
Teanaway Country is a series of mountain ultraruns on U.S. Forest Service land near Cle Elum, Washington. Courses use rocky, remote trails with long, steep climbs and large elevation change. Mountain weather can vary from warm days to below freezing at night, and there is potential for wind, rain, snow, and lightning. Participants should be prepared for limited rescue access and possible wildlife encounters.
Distances offered:
- 100 Mile - Out and back; 31,000 ft gain and loss; 12 aid stations.
- 50 Mile - Point to point; ~16,000 ft gain; 6 aid stations.
- 50K - Lollipop route; ~11,000 ft gain; 3 aid stations.
Aid stations are on average 8+ miles apart with a maximum interval of 10.6 miles. Organizers recommend carrying at least 40 ounces of water and food for three to four hours between stations. Required kit includes a pack or running vest, 30+ ounces of water, an emergency blanket or bivy, a waterproof jacket, and a headlamp or flashlight. Pacers are allowed beginning at Miller Peak aid station. The finish cutoff policy can allow official finish times if all aid station cutoffs are met even when the finish cutoff is exceeded.
100 mile entrants must meet a qualifying race requirement and complete a day of trail work or provide a minimum donation in lieu of trail work. All vehicles need a Northwest Forest Pass for parking on Forest Service land. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
