Needles 50k - Easton, WA

The Needles 50k is a loop trail event near Easton, Washington, offered in two distances. The course links Domerie Divide, Thomas Mountain, French Cabin Mountain, Little Joe Lake, Thorp Mountain, Kachess Ridge (aka The Cardiac Needles), and Silver Creek, with roughly 10,000 feet of cumulative climb.

Support on course is minimal. There are no aid stations or course markings and participants are expected to carry their own food and supplies. Untreated creek water is present at several locations; runners should plan for water treatment. Bathrooms are not expected and the event follows Leave No Trace principles.

Navigation and verification requirements include a GPX track provided in advance that must be preloaded into a map app, mandatory carriage of a phone with the course, submission of the GPX file after the event, and photographic verification such as a summit selfie at Jolly Mountain for the out-and-back section. Entry requires a prior 50 mile trail run completed in 12 hours or less. The organizer states a full refund of the entry fee will be issued if a participant is not completely satisfied.
