Manatee Center 5K, One-Mile, & Kids Run
The 18th annual edition of this event takes place in downtown Fort Pierce, offering routes that provide views of the local scenery. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Friends of the Manatee Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental education and the preservation of the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding ecosystems.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5 km Run or Walk
- One-Mile Walk
- Kids Run
The 5 km route is professionally timed. Awards are presented to overall winners, Masters, and the top three male and female finishers in age groups categorized by 10-year increments. The first 350 registrants for this distance are guaranteed a finisher's medal, and those who register by late February receive a technical shirt.
The One-Mile walk is an untimed event. The route follows the 5 km path before turning toward the Indian River Lagoon and crossing the Seaway Drive Bridge. While no awards are given for this distance, participants receive tickets for a raffle that takes place after the races conclude. All participants have access to refreshments and a raffle following the event at the Manatee Center.
Pre-race packet pickup is available the day prior to the event at a local brewery in downtown Fort Pierce, and registration remains open on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
