Tarmac Twister Trail
Essex Trail Events presents the Tarmac Twister Trail, an evening trail event of approximately 6 miles with a minimum age of 16. The event holds TRA permit 8722 and has a limit of 120 places.
The route is self navigation using a written route description that will be issued on the night. The course is on tarmac and other hard surfaces and is street lit. Because there are no course markings or marshals, a head or hand torch is required to read the instructions. The event is not a mass start; participants may run individually or in groups. Competitors are timed out and back in at the finish.
Race headquarters is at Springfield Cricket Club, Coronation Park, Timsons Lane, Chelmsford CM2 6AF. There is ample parking at the venue, and a fully licensed bar and toilet facilities are available. A glow in the dark medal is provided to all finishers and light refreshments are offered.
Entry fees noted by the organiser are £12 for athletes affiliated to UKA clubs and £14 for unaffiliated entrants. Online entries closed on 9 October 2026 or when the event was full. Results will be posted on the Essex Trail Events website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
