Southend Triathlon
The Southend Triathlon is a coastal multisport event held at the car park area of Uncle Toms Cabin, Shoebury Common Road, Southend-on-Sea, SS3 9HG. The event includes open race categories and organised support on site.
Race options listed by the organiser:
- Sprint Distance: 750m Swim, 20k Bike, 5k Run
- Standard Distance: 1500m Swim, 40k Bike, 10k Run
- Aqua Bike Standard Distance: 1500m Swim, 40k Bike
- Team Relay Standard Distance: 1500m Swim, 40k Bike, 10k Run - minimum of three people
The swim is a coastal, mass start course marked with large race buoys and covered by a water safety team and boat. The event provides chip timing, a secure transition area, clear course signage, first aid support with a response vehicle, and general event security and stewarding. Participants receive a bespoke metal medal, a race belt, a Sundried swim cap, a race number and temporary tattoos.
Organisation details note an event team of more than 50 staff on race day and a fully signposted course. The organiser also operates event site hire and licensing, and describes separate event waves for the Standard, Aqua Bike and Team Relay category and for the Sprint category.
