Southend Triathlon
The Southend Triathlon is organised by RTC Events in association with JBR Run & Tri Club and is held at the car park area of Uncle Toms Cabin, Shoebury Common Road, Southend-on-Sea SS3 9HG. The next scheduled race date is 11 July 2027.
The event includes a coastal sea swim with a mass start, a secure transition area and chip timing. Race formats offered include:
- Sprint Distance: 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
- Standard Distance: 1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run
- Aqua Bike Standard Distance: 1500m swim, 40k bike
- Team Relay Standard: 1500m swim, 40k bike, 10k run, minimum three people
- Duathlon: 2.5k run, 20k bike, 2.5k run
Entries provide a fully signposted course, a large water safety team with a boat, and swim course marked with large buoys. Medical support includes a first aid team and a response vehicle. Security and stewarding are supplied and a staffed transition area is maintained. Participants receive event equipment such as a bespoke metal medal, a swim cap and a race belt. The event team typically numbers over 50 staff on race day.
