Southend Triathlon
The Southend Triathlon is an organised multisport event on 21 June 2026 at the car park area of Uncle Toms Cabin, Shoebury Common Road, Southend-on-Sea, SS3 9HG. The event is run by RTC Events and takes place on the coast with a sea swim component.
Race options include:
- Sprint Distance: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Standard Distance: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Aqua Bike Standard Distance: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike
- Team Relay Standard Distance: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run, minimum three people
The swim uses a mass start and the course is marked with large XXL race buoys. Entries include chip timing, a bespoke metal medal, race belt, Sundried swim cap, and temporary race number tattoos. Event logistics list a secure transition area, clear course signage, and an event team of more than 50 staff.
Safety and support provisions noted for the event include a large water safety team with boat, first aid team and response vehicle, security staff and stewards, and marshals along the bike and run routes. Participant feedback cited choppy sea conditions at times and consistently mentioned visible marshal support and organised registration and transition areas.
