Women-Only Multi-Sport Event in Tierra Verde

The Tampa Bay BABES Triathlon is a women-only multi-sport event hosted at Fort De Soto Park in St. Petersburg, Florida. The event is organized by Team BABE Athletics and features a flat, fast course set against coastal scenery. Participants can choose from several sprint-distance formats, including triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike options.

The race categories include:

  • Sprint Triathlon: A 400-yard point-to-point swim, a 9.5-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run.
  • Sprint Duathlon: A 1-mile run, a 9.5-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run.
  • Sprint Aquabike: A 400-yard swim and a 9.5-mile bike.
  • Relay Team: A team option for the Sprint Triathlon distance.

The cycling portion of the events takes place on a traffic-free course. The running segments provide views of the coastal park landscape.

Recognition is provided for various categories, including the top three overall finishers, relay teams, and specific divisions such as Athena (165+ lbs) and PC/Adaptive. There is also a dedicated rookie category for first-time triathletes. Age group awards are available for participants ranging from ages 10-14 to 85 and older.
