Event overview
The Tamarac Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving Day in Fremont, Michigan, and is celebrating its 15th year in 2025. The event includes multiple distances:
- 10K run
- 5K run/walk
- 1.5 mile fun run/walk
- Kids 5K
- Kids 1.5 mile walk
The event is held at 1401 W Main Street, Fremont, MI 49412. The course maps are provided for each distance. The 5K, 10K and 1.5 mile participants are chip timed. The event is an open course and allows dogs and strollers; children must be supervised by a responsible adult. Children who remain in a stroller for the entire race do not need to register, but children who run or walk on the course must be registered.
Entry, shirts and awards
There is no day-of-race registration in 2025. Shirt and size are guaranteed for registrations completed by October 15; the 2025 shirt is a unisex crewneck sweatshirt for the 15th anniversary. Kids 11 and under may register free for the Kids 5K and Kids 1.5 mile (no shirt included); a kids' shirt purchase option is available during registration.
All finishers receive a finisher gift. Awards include overall and masters awards for the 10K and 5K, age-group awards, and top-three age-group awards for the 5K and Kids 5K. Age groups are specified for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
