Tamarac Tri
The Tamarac Tri is a sprint triathlon held at Fremont Lake Park on August 15, 2026. It is the second annual edition and is limited to 150 participants divided into three waves of 50.
The course consists of three legs:
- 750 meters swim
- 12.4 miles bike
- 5K run
The swim starts on the shore next to the public boat launch, goes out around the buoy, and finishes at the public beach before entering the transition area. Participants may wear a bodysuit or use an approved flotation aid such as a lifejacket or kickboard; emergency volunteers will be in the water to assist if needed. The bike follows a mapped route that leaves the transition area, travels on Lake Drive and several local streets, and returns to the transition area. Helmets are required and must be buckled during all aspects of the bike; failure to have a helmet buckled will result in disqualification. The 5K run follows the Town & Country Path through streets and a wooded section, with one water station near the 1.5 mile marker.
Entry fees are listed as $75 for individuals and $165 for relay teams. The event offers a relay option where the swim, bike, and run can be split among team members. The race includes age group awards, top overall and masters awards, and top relay team prizes. No refunds and no transfers are allowed.
