Tamarac Tri
The Tamarac Tri is a sprint triathlon held at Fremont Lake Park in Fremont, Michigan on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The event uses the park beach and surrounding roads for a swim, bike, and run format.
Distances include:
- 750-meter swim
- 12.4-mile bike
- 5K run
A relay team option is available so the swim, bike, and run can be split among team members. The field is limited to 150 participants, organized in three waves of 50. Waves 2 and 3 are recommended for participants who prefer a more relaxed swim pace.
Swim safety provisions allow a bodysuit or approved flotation aids such as a lifejacket or kickboard. Emergency volunteers will be in the water to assist if needed. The swim starts on the shore next to the public boat launch, passes around a buoy, and finishes at the public beach into the transition area.
Helmets are required for the bike and must be buckled during all aspects of the bike course; failure to buckle a helmet will result in disqualification. The run route follows the Town & Country Path with a water station near the 1.5 mile marker.
The event includes an awards ceremony with age groups from 16-19 through 60 plus, top overall and masters awards, and top three in each age group. Registration fees are listed for individual and relay entries and refunds or transfers are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
