Trail Race Opportunities in Vermont

The TAM Trek is a trail running event held in Middlebury, Vermont, aimed at supporting the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM). The TAM is a 19 mile footpath that encircles the village of Middlebury and connects hundreds of acres of town land, conserved properties, schools, and local landmarks. All scheduled events begin and end at Wright Park.

Participants can choose from several distance options:

  • 19 Miles: A complete loop of the Trail Around Middlebury through Middlebury, Cornwall, New Haven, and Weybridge.
  • 10K: A single track trail loop through Wright Park and the Otter Creek Gorge Preserve with 400 feet of elevation gain.
  • 5K: A route in Wright Park following a combination of wide and single track trails from Belden Falls and back.
  • 2 Miles: A family friendly fun run following Otter Creek entirely on trails within Wright Park.

The 19 mile course offers rolling terrain with views of the Green Mountains to the east and the Adirondacks to the west. The 10K route includes several technical sections. The 2 mile fun run is open to walkers and runners, and leashed dogs are permitted to participate. Registration is open for various age groups, including specific categories for youth and children.

The event takes place at Wright Park on Seymour Street Extension. On-site registration is available on the morning of the event starting 45 minutes before the first activity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
