Takedown the New Year 5K takes place on January 3, 2026, at Buhach Colony High School, 1800 Buhach Rd., Atwater, CA 95301. The event is organized by the Buhach Colony High School boys and girls wrestling teams to raise funds for uniforms, warm-ups, wrestling equipment, and tournament expenses. Registration closes December 31, 2025.

Race features and logistics
Packet pick up and race-day registration are available on race day. The kids race awards finisher medals to all participants. The 5K awards age-group medals for first through third place in the listed categories: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. The 5K will be chip-timed by local timers Alpha-Ro Timing with live results posted on RunSignup. A post-race raffle uses each bib as a raffle ticket; winners must be present to claim prizes. Pre-purchased event shirts and hoodies can be picked up on race day. For safety, the 5K course is held within the boundaries of the student parking lot where the start, finish, and registration areas are located.
