Event overview
The Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs take place in Carson City, Nevada on July 18, 2026. The event offers four distances on single-track trails and dirt roads around the Carson Range and Lake Tahoe. Much of the route uses the Tahoe Rim Trail through the Spooner backcountry of Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park and on Toiyabe National Forest land.

The 100-mile course includes approximately 20,000 feet of elevation gain. The final 17 miles of the long course are described as very demanding and require a minimum of 2 liters of fluids. The 23K is an out-and-back to the final aid station. Live GPS tracking will be provided for the 100-mile, 100K, and 50K races; there will be no GPS tracking for the 23K.
Entry, qualification and fees
Registration opens December 7, 2025. The 100-mile event requires meeting qualification standards at the time of registration within the qualifying period July 1, 2023 to registration. Acceptable qualifications include:
- 50 miles in less than 15 hours or the TRTER 56-Miler in less than 18 hours
- 100 kilometers in less than 22 hours
- completion of any official 100-mile trail race
There are no qualifying requirements for the 100K and 50K. Trail work requirement: all 100-mile entrants must complete 8 hours of volunteer trail work between July 1, 2025 and July 1, 2026.
Pricing listed by the organizer:
- 100 Mile: $350 plus fees (includes live GPS tracking)
- 100K: $250 plus fees
- 50K: $155 plus fees
- 23K: $85 plus fees
Cutoffs and designation
The 100-mile race has a 36-hour cutoff for an official finish. The event lists the TRTER 100-mile and 100K as Western States Qualifier races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
