Tad Tri 2026

The Tad Tri is a sprint distance triathlon held in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire. This event takes place on the first Bank Holiday Monday in May and is organized to raise funds for the Tadcaster Community Pool. The race has been held for over 19 years and has an entry limit of 300 participants.

The triathlon consists of three distinct sections:

  • 400m pool swim
  • 13km undulating bike route
  • 6km flat run alongside the River Wharfe

The race headquarters are located at Riverside School on Wetherby Road. Facilities available for participants include water stations, toilets, changing rooms, and showers. There are no distance markers on the course and no baggage storage facilities provided.

Participation is open to individuals who are at least 17 years old by the end of the calendar year. Competitors must hold a British Triathlon race licence or purchase a single-use Race Pass. Following British Triathlon policies, athletes may enter either the Female category or the Open category. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in veteran age categories ranging from 40+ to 70+.

The event offers registration for both individual entries and team relays. Registration closes on the Friday before the event, and there is no option for entry on the day of the race. The course is not suitable for wheelchair users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
