Leeds Santa Dash
The Leeds Santa Dash is a festive 3 km fun run held in support of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) community. The event serves as the final leg of the Kevin Sinfield CBE 7 in 7 Together Challenge. All profits from the event are donated directly to the challenge, which supports six different MND charities, including the MND Association and MND Scotland.
The course begins at the Leeds Beckett University Headingley Campus and concludes at the AMT Headingley Stadium. Participants can complete the distance by running, jogging, walking, or using a wheelchair. The event is open to individuals of all ages and abilities, though children aged 0 to 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration for the event includes several items for participants:
- A Santa suit (provided for participants aged 3 and over)
- An exclusive bauble-themed finisher item
- Chocolate for finishers
Participants are required to collect their race numbers and Santa suits in person prior to the event day from the Leeds Beckett Sport location at the Headingley Campus. No baggage storage is provided on-site, so runners are encouraged to leave personal belongings with friends or family. While bone-conducting headphones are permitted, organizers request that volumes remain low to ensure safety instructions and emergency vehicles can be heard.
The event site features a drop-off point for those traveling by car, located near Beckett's Park Drive. Local bus and rail services are also available for transport to the Headingley area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
