About the race
The Taco the Town Run is an annual event held in Cottleville, featuring several distance options for participants of various interests. The race course leads runners through Legacy Park, with updated routes implemented for the 2026 edition to accommodate local infrastructure changes.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 mile
- Stroller Kids run
Registration for the event includes a themed t-shirt, a headband, and a finisher medal. Participants also receive access to live race results and professional race photos. The event concludes with a post-race fiesta featuring music, food, and drinks at the finish line. An award ceremony recognizes the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5 km and 10 km categories, as well as the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 0-19 to 80+.
Course support includes water and electrolyte drinks for all athletes. A general time limit of two hours is in place for all participants to complete their respective courses. The finish line area also hosts local businesses and vendor booths. For spectators, the event provides a sign-making craft table for children and musical entertainment. Public parking is available at Legacy Park, Cottleville City Hall, and on various nearby streets including 5th Street and Main Street.
