The Syttende Mai Classic Run/Walk takes place on May 16, 2026 in Stoughton, WI. The event continues a 54-year tradition and is based at Anderson Complex / Collins Field near Stoughton High School. The race program includes the following events:
- Half Marathon Run
- Half Marathon Walk
- 5K Run
- 'Lil Run (Untimed 2-Mile Run)
The Half Marathon Run and Walk and the 5K are timed events. The Lil' Run is untimed.
Logistics and amenities
Packet pick-up options are provided: Thursday, May 14 (Madison area location, 4-6 PM), Friday, May 15 (Doctors of Physical Therapy, 2384 Jackson St., Stoughton, 3-5:30 PM), and Saturday, May 16 at Anderson Complex starting early on race day. Anderson Complex offers expanded parking, concessions, bleachers, restrooms, and space for post-race activities.
Registered participants receive event items and services that include a unisex event T-shirt (guaranteed only for registrations before April 21), finisher medals for the Half Marathon and 5K, professional race timing for the Half Marathon and 5K, professional finisher photos, and finisher refreshments. An arts and crafts fair and food offerings from local Norwegian dancers are available after the race. Price and registration details are published for each event.
