About the race
The Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K takes place on November 28, 2026, at Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool, New York, near 106 Lake Dr. This is the 12th annual edition and includes in-person and virtual options, plus a new walking-only event for 2026.
In-person events include themed running entries for Team Santa and Team Grinch. The Ugly Sweater 5K Yeti Walk is a walking-only event held alongside the running entries. Virtual options are offered for Team Santa and Team Grinch and allow participants to complete the course at another time.
Participants in the in-person running events receive a custom long sleeve shirt and a custom finisher medal. Walkers in the Yeti Walk receive a winter beanie and a finisher medal. Virtual participants may run 3.1 miles anytime in December and are asked to submit their time; swag and finisher medals can be mailed if a packet pickup is missed. Registration fees in the source material are $37 for the in-person run and walk and $42 or $45 for the virtual options. Registration windows vary by entry.
A post-race awards ceremony and party will be held at the Cobblestone in Liverpool, with awards for Overall and Age Group winners and prizes for best in dress.
