Salt City Fall Classic - Baltimore Woods Nature Center, Marcellus NY
Salt City Trail Racing presents a timed trail event on November 21, 2026, offering both six hour and twelve hour options. The event is a reboot of the Clark 6 Hour Classic and uses a repeated 1.7 mile loop on maintained trails within Baltimore Woods Nature Center.
The loop follows the Meadow, Bluebird, and Rim Trails in a clockwise direction and combines rolling double track and winding single track through open fields, forests, and around a former quarry. Each lap returns runners to the Interpretive Center where spectators can watch from Adirondack chairs on the porch and runners can warm at the outdoor pavilion's stone fireplace. An aid station is located at the center of the loop.
Distances
- 6 Hour option on the 1.7 mile loop
- 12 Hour option on the 1.7 mile loop
Aid station offerings include water, Skratch, bananas, pickles, PB&Js, potato chips, pretzels, Oreos, and candy. A limited selection of hot foods will be available for twelve hour participants later in the event. Inside the lodge there will be hot soup, bread, coffee, hot cider, cocoa, and other items for runners, crew, and spectators.
Pacers are permitted only for the second half of the twelve hour event; up to three different pacers may be used but only one may accompany a runner on course at a time and pacers must register and wear a pacer bib. All runners receive SCTR socks and finishers receive a race buff; top finishers receive winners beanies. Runner donations are split between Baltimore Woods Nature Center and the Central New York Land Trust and are matched by SCTR up to $500. Deferrals, distance changes, and partial refunds are available under the event's stated policies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
