Event overview
Lights on the Lake 5K takes place Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Liverpool, NY at the Marina Parking Lot within Onondaga Lake Park (106 Lake Drive). The event includes two race options:
- 5K Walk
- 5K Run
The 5K Walk is not timed and is capped at 750 participants. The 5K Run is a timed event with live results and is also capped at 750 participants. Walk participants receive a buff; run participants receive a beanie. Limited edition 2025 Lights on the Lake 5K ornaments will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group and mailed after the race. Age groups for run awards are: 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Logistics and charity
Packet pick up is available on Friday, November 21 at Griffin Visitor Center (next to the Wegmans Playground), 106 Lake Drive, Liverpool, NY, or on the respective race days at the Marina Parking Lot. Listed registration prices are $18.15 (walk, includes $3.15 fee) and $38.61 (run, includes $3.61 fee).
A portion of proceeds and all donations will go to Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital. The event will collect unwrapped toys for children at the hospital; suggested items include toys for infants, preschool and school-age children, art supplies, books, and gift cards for adolescents. Due to safety and infection control guidelines, the hospital cannot accept used items, homemade food, blankets, pillows, or gift wrapped items.
