Sybil Ludington 50K Race and Relay

The Sybil Ludington 50K Race and Relay is a long-distance running event held in Carmel, New York. Organized by Putnam County and the Taconic Road Runners, the race commemorates historical local figures and events. This edition marks the 42nd running of the event, which was held annually until 2019.

The course follows a historic route, covering 31 miles of the path taken by Sybil Ludington. While the route returns to its original course, the event features a modified starting area. Both sign-in and post-race activities are held at the VFW in Carmel.

Participants can choose between two primary event formats:

  • 50K Individual: A solo ultramarathon distance.
  • 50K Relay: A team event for two runners.

In the relay format, participants have the flexibility to determine their own exchange points. Teams can choose to swap runners at frequent intervals, such as every quarter mile, or complete longer segments of up to 15K per person.

Registration includes a long-sleeve t-shirt and a finisher's medal for those who complete the course. Members of the Taconic Road Runners are eligible for a registration discount. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
