Snowy Owl Trail Race
The Snowy Owl Trail Race is a 5 miles trail race held at Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem, NY on December 13, 2026. The course starts and ends in the Yurt Village at Camp Morty inside the park. The village includes a large firepit and an amphitheater that serve as the gathering area before and after the race; the firepit will have a fire burning on race day.
The event supports trail projects at Mountain Lakes Park. The park contains over 10 miles of trails across more than 1000 acres and connects with trail systems from four neighboring parks, extending the combined trail network to nearly 14 miles.
Because the race takes place in winter, a snowfall or winter storm may require postponement or cancellation. In the event of a winter storm on race day, the park and organizers may determine the race must be postponed or cancelled; entrants will have the option of a race transfer or a refund. Light snow on the ground alone will not cause cancellation.
Registration opens September 20, 2026 and closes October 14, 2026. The listed registration fee is $37.00. The event location is 201 Hawley Rd, North Salem, NY 10560. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
