SVR Winter Series
The SVR Winter Series is an eight-race winter road series organized by the Shenandoah Valley Runners non-profit club and held at locations across the northern Shenandoah Valley between December 2026 and March 2027. Registration for the full series is available only to active club members and is completed through RunSignup. Individual race entries are not offered this year.
Participants who register for the full series receive a gym bag with the SVR logo and a Winter Series 26-27 decal; swag is guaranteed for the first 700 runners who check in and receive their timing chips. For races two through eight a reusable timing chip is assigned to each entrant and must be used for every race. Chips are available for pickup at designated events, must be attached to the shoe, and should be returned at the end of the series. Lost chips incur a $20 replacement fee.
Series scoring awards points after each race based on overall and age group finish, with up to 500 points available per race and scores calculated from a runner’s top six finishes for a maximum of 3000 points. Runners must complete at least five races to be eligible for awards, though required totals may change if races are cancelled. Awards include top overall finishers and age group standings. Awards will be presented at the SVR Club Banquet on April 4, 2027 at the Millwood Station Banquet Hall in Winchester, VA.
The series is volunteer managed and supported by the new SVR Crew volunteer program. Race schedules, parking and course details, and any weather-related changes are determined by location and will be communicated by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
