Sustainable Streets Race New Orleans

Sustainable Streets Race - New Orleans

The Sustainable Streets Race Series is a national initiative by Global Green to build long-term community engagement and recurring funding for local sustainability and resilience projects. The organization plans annual endurance and community race events in cities where its Sustainable Neighborhood Solutions initiatives operate, with each race tailored to local needs and priorities.

The flagship event in New Orleans includes two distances and is presented as a community celebration of local resilience and recovery. Race day features a raffle of items donated by sponsors and local companies, a community-based Farmers Market with fresh locally grown foods and artisan goods, a food drive for residents in need, and live music from local bands. The event brings together residents, local businesses, and national partners, and proceeds support community revitalization, food desert alleviation, sustainability efforts, community recovery, affordable housing initiatives, and climate resilience programs.
