Event Overview

The Surfers Point Marathon takes place on September 6, 2026, in Ventura, California. The race is certified as a Boston Qualifier (USATF Cert#CA24016TEB).

Course and Distances

The course is 100% beachfront at Solimar Beach, following the Rincon Highway 1 bike path. It is described as mostly flat. The full marathon is a three-loop course with a 7-hour time limit. An early start option at 6:00 AM is available for full marathon participants who need extra time. Other available distances are a half marathon, a 10k, and a 5k.

Participant Items and Post-Race

All runners receive a premium sublimated finisher shirt, a runner's hat, a custom finisher medal, and a reusable tote bag. After the race, participants over 21 receive one free beer and a plate of street tacos; participants under 21 receive a free root beer. Friends and family can purchase additional food and drink.

Awards and Series

Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each race distance. Age group medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each category across all distances. There is also a team competition. The event is part of a three-race series; runners who complete all three races receive a special series finisher medal.

Special Features

The event uses a cup-less water station system for environmental and safety reasons. Runners must bring their own cup or can purchase a reusable one for $3.
