Surf City Fitness Race to the Coast 5K
The Surf City Fitness Race to the Coast 5K is scheduled for May 9, 2026 in Surf City, NC (517 Roland Ave, 28455). The event is hosted by Surf City Fitness and benefits Surf City Ocean Rescue. The course passes over the Surf City Bridge and offers views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean.
Registration includes a race shirt, a post-race party with food trucks, music and a vendor fair, flowers for mothers presented by Surf City Florist, and awards for overall and age group winners. Shirt size choice is guaranteed for registrations submitted by April 8; later registrants may choose from remaining inventory while supplies last.
Packet pickup is available the Friday before the race at Surf City Fitness (2770 NC HWY 210 E, suite 104, Hampstead, NC 28443) and on race day at Soundside Park. To reduce congestion on the bridge, the race uses wave starts and color-coded bibs. Wave groups are organized by expected finish time: In It to Win It (under 30 minutes), Feel Good Pace (30 to 45 minutes), Scenic Pace (45 to 60 minutes), and Walk & Talk Crew (60+ minutes).
Awards are given to top finishers overall and in age divisions including 10 and under, 11-18, 19-39, and 40+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
