Twin Anchors Copperhead Beer Relay 20K and Beer Mile
This event takes place at the Briar Patch Hunting property near Poplar Grove Plantation in Hampstead, North Carolina on May 15, 2027. The main course is based on a 5K loop repeated to make the 20K distance. Participants carry a relay baton during their leg in relay divisions.
Before each 5K lap participants may choose to drink a 12-ounce Wicked Weed beer or drink chocolate milk. Each consumed beverage before a lap grants a two minute deduction from that lap time. Beer is available only to participants aged 21 and older; chocolate milk is offered as an alternative for younger participants or those who choose not to drink alcohol. In the individual 20K division a runner may consume up to four beers, with a maximum total time deduction of eight minutes.
The program includes multiple divisions and one-mile novelty races: individual 20K, 20K relay teams of two to four people, a Beer Club division for brewery-associated teams, a Corporate Charity team division with sponsor benefits and a provision that 20 percent of proceeds from that division go to the winning team’s chosen charity, a Beer Mile in several competitive classes, a Doughnut Mile, and a combined Double Copperhead Trouble entry that pairs the Beer Mile with the 20K individual division and includes an additional t-shirt for that combined registration.
