Superhero 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run - Viera
The event is a costume-optional community run held at The Avenue Viera in Melbourne, Florida on Saturday, April 24, 2027. It benefits Friends of Children of Brevard, a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving abused, abandoned, and neglected children in Brevard County. Funds support clothing, shoes, beds, school supplies, birthday and holiday gifts, summer activities, graduation celebrations, emergency assistance, and other needs for local children.

All finishers receive a finisher medal, with an additional medal for participants who complete the Superhero Challenge by running both events. The event includes team awards, age-group winner medals, a costume contest, and a community mascot race. Family-oriented activities listed for race day include a free kids race, inflatables, and other kids activities. Participants can select the color of their race shirt. Free parking is available throughout The Avenue Viera.
The event is presented by Friends of Children of Brevard and is new in 2027 as part of the Space Coast Runners Runner of the Year Series. Entry pricing listed for 2027 begins at $30 for the 5K, $25 for the 1 Mile, and $41 for the Superhero Challenge, with prices increasing after March 30, 2027.
