Event details
The Superhero 5K Fun Run takes place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Union City Civic Center / City Hall, 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, CA 94587. The event offers the following distances:
- 5K Adult : open to ages 18 to 99
- 5K Youth : open to ages 1 to 17
Registration prices are listed for each event and are scheduled to increase after January 29, 2026. The race is held rain or shine.
Race features and charity
The event uses official race timing and awards medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. Additional event elements include a costume contest, raffle prizes, event photography, and giveaways. Age-category divisions include Boys/Girls 12 & Under, Boys/Girls 13–17, and ten-year adult age groups from 18–29 through 70+.
A portion of each registration is donated to the Parkinson’s Foundation through the Union City Moving Day team. The Mark Green Sports Center dedicates $5 from each registration to that fundraising effort; since 2016 the local Parkinson’s exercise program team has helped raise over $100,000.
