CASA of Wise & Jack Counties - The Great Decatur Dash and Bash
The Great Decatur Dash and Bash is a community event in historic downtown Decatur, Texas on October 17, 2026. The day combines the former Superhero 5K with the Boo Bash fall festival and is centered on the Downtown Square at Main and State Streets.
The event includes a family-friendly 5K road race and a fall festival with costumes, entertainment, and community activities. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, capes, superhero gear, or fall attire. The race is a chip timed event. No pets are allowed.
Registration details and fees are provided for the 5K and a Youth Untimed 5K option for children 12 and under who do not want a shirt or timing chip. Race t-shirts are guaranteed for racers registered by September 23, 2026. Early packet pick-up is to be determined.
The event is hosted by CASA of Wise and Jack Counties. Proceeds support CASA’s work to recruit, train, and support volunteer advocates who represent the best interests of children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Awards include overall male and female medals, top youth male and female, and medals three deep in each age division: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.
