The Great Decatur Dash and Bash - Decatur, TX
The Great Decatur Dash and Bash is a community event in historic downtown Decatur that combines a family-friendly 5K with a fall festival on the Downtown Square. The event continues traditions from the former Superhero 5K and the Boo Bash, and participants are invited to wear costumes, capes, superhero gear, or fall attire while running or walking.
Hosted by CASA of Wise and Jack Counties, the event raises awareness of child abuse and neglect and supports children experiencing foster care. Proceeds support CASA's efforts to recruit, train, and support volunteer advocates who work with children in Wise and Jack Counties.
Event details include:
- 5K - chip timed; awards for overall and age divisions.
- Youth Untimed 5K - for children 12 and under who do not want a shirt or timing chip.
Registration fees and policy notes: early registration fee for the 5K is $30, increasing after October 3; children under 12 may participate free with optional paid shirt or timing. Race shirts are guaranteed for racers registered by September 23, 2026. Awards in the 5K include medals for Overall Male and Female, Top Youth Male and Female, and three deep in each age division. Age divisions (male and female) include: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.
