Super Hero Dash
The Super Hero Dash is a running event held at Alamitos Beach in Long Beach, California. Participants follow out and back routes located along the beach path. This path remains open to the public during the event, requiring runners to stay on the pedestrian side of the path to avoid cyclists.
The event offers four different distances:
- 5K: One lap of a 5 km route.
- 10K: Two laps of the 5 km route.
- 10 Miler: Two laps of a 5 mile route.
- Half Marathon: Two laps of a 5 mile route plus one lap of the 5 km route.
The course features clearly marked turns indicated by chalk, flags, and signs. Support is provided through a water station on the course and an aid station at the finish line, which includes water, electrolytes, gels, and snacks. All staff members are trained in CPR, and first aid kits are available at each station.
A course limit of 3 hours and 20 minutes is established for the Half Marathon and 10 Miler. Runners in these categories may request an early start, though doing so makes them ineligible for awards. All finishers receive a medal, and specific awards are provided to the overall first-place male and female finishers in each category.
Participants can use a gear check service at the registration tent by bringing their own bag. Parking is available in a nearby lot for a fee or for free on the street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
