SUPER HERO 5K - Cartersville
The SUPER HERO 5K is an inaugural 5-kilometer road and park run taking place in Cartersville, Georgia, with start and finish at the City of Cartersville Parks & Recreation Senior Aquatic Center at Sam Smith Park (1155 Douthit Ferry Rd.). The course uses the rolling pathways inside Sam Smith Park and adjacent surface streets; organizers note there is some construction in the park and have a plan to accommodate it.
The event benefits Helping Hands for Bartow Kids (HHBK). HHBK provides educational programs, healthcare initiatives, and social services aimed at supporting children in Bartow County and creating opportunities for them to thrive. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food and hygiene products for the Allatoona Resource Center and Red Door Food Pantry.
The race was rescheduled to Saturday, February 28, 2026 due to expected extremely cold temperatures and the possibility of snow or ice; other aspects of the event were reported to remain the same. Pre-registration packet pick up is listed for Talk of the Town Salon, 112 West Main Street, on Friday, January 30, 2026, with packets also available on race day. Awards include top three overall male and female, overall masters male and female, and medals for top three in multiple age-group categories. The event is planned as a rain or shine event.
