Event details
The 2026 Run for the Children 5K, 10K and Fun Run takes place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, in Canton, Georgia. It is hosted by The Service League of Cherokee County and will be held at Etowah River Park. The event offers the following race options:
- 5K Run/Walk - $35
- 10K Run - $35
- Fun Run - $25
- Santa's Helper - $20 (registration ends October 31, 2026)
Shirts are guaranteed for registrations received before November 1, 2026; later registrations are not guaranteed a shirt or size.
Logistics, awards and results
Early packet pickup is at Fleet Feet, 1431 Riverstone Pkwy, Canton, GA on December 4. Race day registration and packet pickup begin at 7:00 AM; the race day registration fee is $40. Bananas and bottled water will be provided after the race.
5K and 10K awards include top overall male and female, one overall masters male and female, and three-deep awards in standard age groups from 10 and Under through 80 and Over. Fun Run finishers receive a commemorative ribbon. A $1,000 cash prize will be awarded to the school with the most participants.
Timing and results are handled by BT Race Timing. The event will not be chip timed; finishers must complete a finish card (name, age, bib number, gender) and submit it at the results boards for posting. Complete results will be posted online after the race. No refunds will be issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
