Sunshine 5K - Greenville
The Sunshine event in Greenville City Park includes a timed 5K run/walk, a 1 mile run/walk, and a free 400 meter kids fun run. The 5K course passes through the park and crosses the swinging bridge. The 1 mile option does not receive awards. The kids 400 meter fun run is free and does not require pre-registration.
Registration for the main distances opens March 16, 2026 and closes September 9, 2026. Standard fees through September 9 are $20, which includes a shirt; a youth rate of $15 through September 9 also includes a shirt; a $5 youth option is available without a shirt. Fees increase by $5 on September 10 and shirts are limited after that. To avoid credit card processing fees, registration forms may be mailed or delivered with cash or check to the Darke County Foundation.
Included with registration are a quality t-shirt (guaranteed for those who register by September 9 while supplies last), door prizes, homemade cookies, fruit and drinks, and a swag bag with snacks and other items while supplies last. The 5K offers age-group awards across standard age categories. Proceeds benefit several local nonprofit organizations, including Team AddieGirl for Cancer Association of Darke County, DeColores Montessori School, Edison College Foundation, Final Bow Center for Children's Performing Arts, LifeWise Academy - Greenville, Darke County Pregnancy Help Center, and Darke Co.
