Angel Run 5K : North Star, Ohio
The Angel Run is a memorial 5K event held in late July at North Star Park, located east of town in North Star, Ohio (90 North Star Rd). The event remembers lost loved ones and includes an option for participants to have memorial photos placed along the route when submitted in advance.
Race options include a traditional 5K of 3.1 Miles with or without a shirt, and a shirt only option for those not running. Registration pricing is split between pre-entry (through July 10) and day of race pricing after July 10, with different fees for the shirt and no-shirt options and a separate fee for the shirt only purchase.
The course is described as flat and scenic, run as a down and back route with mile split times and water stops. Timing is electronic chip timing. Awards include plaques for the top three male and top three female overall and medals for the top three in each age category. Door prizes are provided by sponsors and require presence to win.
Proceeds support an Angel Run scholarship and donations to the North Star Fire Department and the North Star American Legion. Results are posted after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
