Angel Run 5K
The Angel Run 5K is an annual running event held in North Star, Ohio. The race commemorates lost loved ones and marks its 29th year in 2026. The event is held in conjunction with the North Star Picnic and utilizes the North Star Park, located east of town, for both the start and finish lines.
Participants follow a 3.1 mile (5K) route described as a flat, down and back course. The race features electronic chip timing, with time markers at each mile and water stops available along the path. Runners who are participating in memory of someone have the option to provide a photograph of their loved one to be displayed along the race route.
The event offers the following participation options:
- 5K Run: A 3.1 mile race open to all ages.
- Fun Run: A short distance event specifically for children.
Top finishers are recognized with awards, including plaques for the top three overall male and female runners. Medals are also awarded to the top three finishers in each age category. Proceeds from the registration fees support the Angel Run Scholarship, the North Star Fire Department, and the North Star American Legion.
