Sunset Trail Running Festival
The Sunset Trail Running Festival takes place in Gold Hill, Colorado. It is hosted by The Boulder Watershed Collective in collaboration with T.E.A.M Boulder. All money raised will be donated to the town of Gold Hill to fund wildfire preparation and response initiatives, including forest restoration, home hardening, emergency planning, land stewardship, and community resiliency.
Runners can choose from the following distances:
- 28K (17.4 miles)
- 12K (7.7 miles)
- 5K
- Kids 1K
All distances start and finish on the main street of Gold Hill at the Gold Hill Inn. The longer courses run in part on National Forest System roads. Routes use dirt roads and trails through ponderosa pine and aspen forests and provide varied terrain and landscape views.
No dogs are permitted in the race. There are no race refunds.
A post-race gathering will include food, drinks, and music. To reduce vehicle impact on the Gold Hill community, a round-trip shuttle operates from the Boulder County Justice Center at 1777 6th St, Boulder, CO. Parking at Gold Hill will be very limited and the required cost per car is a $30.00 cash donation. Shuttle tickets are round-trip, race participants ride free, and non-competing fares are listed for adults and children. Return buses run on a first come, first served basis between 10:15 and 12:30.
