Sunset Run Nissequogue River State Park Run/Walk
The event is a community run/walk held at Nissequogue River State Park featuring a main 5K distance and a separate 1K run for children. Registration is not yet open.
Amenities include free food and beverages, a complimentary gift and t-shirt for preregistered participants with limited supply on race day, complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over, and entertainment including a DJ. The course is described as scenic.
Cash prizes are awarded for overall finishers and masters. Prize amounts listed are $100 for 1st place male and female overall, $75 for 2nd place, $50 for 3rd place, and $75 for top male and female masters. Age-group awards are organized in five-year increments from 14 and under through 80 and older.
Race operations note that bibs are used and participants need to know their bib number for pickup; a self-lookup area is available for those who do not know their number. Results and media are provided digitally, including live online/email/text results, free video, same-day finish-line photos, and additional photos posted on social media.
