Sunset Run Nissequogue River State Park Run/Walk 2027
The Sunset Run Nissequogue River State Park Run/Walk 2027 takes place at Nissequogue River State Park and includes a main 5K event plus a kids 1K. The event offers on-site amenities such as free food and beverages, a complimentary gift and t-shirt for those who pre-register (limited supply day of the event), complimentary beer for participants 21 and older, and entertainment including a DJ. The course is described as scenic.
Cash prizes are awarded for overall finishers and masters: first, second, and third place men and women receive $100, $75, and $50 respectively, and top masters men and women receive $75. Age-group awards are organized in five-year increments from 14 & under through 80+.
The beneficiary is the Nissequogue River State Park Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that works with the New York State Office of State Parks, Recreation & Historical Preservation to enhance and preserve the park. Registration is not yet open and will open prior to the event. Bib pickup is handled by event staff beginning one hour before the start, and registering three weeks in advance allows for a personalized race number.
