Sunset Run Nissequogue River State Park 5K
This event is an evening community run and walk held at Nissequogue River State Park. The program includes a main 5K run and walk plus a shorter Kids 1K. The course is described as scenic and the event runs rain or shine.
Amenities include free food and beverages, entertainment with a DJ, and complimentary items for pre-registered participants while supplies last. Alcohol is available for participants 21 and older. Live online and same-day results are provided, along with free finish line video and photos.
Cash awards are offered for top overall finishers and masters, and prizes are awarded in five-year age groups up to 80 and over. Bib pickup is handled by event staff on race day and a self lookup area is available for those who need their bib number. Personalized race numbers are available for those who register several weeks in advance.
Event proceeds benefit the Nissequogue River State Park Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that works with state park authorities to enhance and preserve the park's historical and environmental assets for current and future generations.
