Sundown Rundown Fifth Street Cross Edition
This event takes place on 09/26/2026 in Emmaus, Pennsylvania at 165 Klines Lane. The main race distance is 26.2 miles and the format uses repeated short laps rather than a single long course.
The course is organized as a short course with lap repeats of about 1.6 miles (around 2.8 km). Each lap is run in the opposite direction of the previous lap. Runners start together and must begin each lap on time; failure to start on time results in disqualification. Competitors who do not complete a lap before the next lap starts are eliminated and receive a score for the lap they started.
Timing and scoring are timed and self recorded on a public scoreboard. Runners mark one slash for starting a lap and a second slash for completing it. If a runner starts a lap but does not make the time cut, they are scored on that lap relative to others who also missed the cut. The first lap allows 20 minutes to complete the course and the allowed time shortens on subsequent laps. Tiebreakers use the previous lap start if a runner does not cross the finish line on a lap.
Event features include a start and finish chute, a covered area for athlete change pits, and grill food. Parking is available inside the compost center for those staying until 8pm; parking outside the venue is in gravel lots for those who need to leave earlier.
