Event
The Lehigh Valley New Year's Chaser is scheduled for January 1, 2026 in Coplay, Pennsylvania. The event is held at the Ironton Rail Trail, 245 N 2nd St., with all races starting and finishing next to the cement kilns. Race options include:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Combo 5K and 10K
Registration options include race entry fees and a military discount. A four-hour time limit applies to all events. Race-day registration is available online through race day cutoffs listed by the organizer.
Course, services and awards
The half marathon uses two loops of a 5.25-mile generally flat asphalt loop with a spur that makes each loop 6.55 miles. The loop low point is 365 ft and the high point is 389 ft, with about 184 ft total elevation gain per loop; one section rises 30 ft in 0.3 mile. The 10K follows the same loop with a shorter out-and-back to reach 6.2 miles. Aid stations with water and Gatorade are provided about every two miles. Entry fees include a t-shirt, finisher medal and ankle running socks. Results are available live by text, email and online, and finish-line photos are free. Awards include top overall M/F/X for each distance and top three in age groups; a non-binary category is included. First-time half-marathon finishers receive a commemorative plaque.
