About the race
The January Ice Scraper 5K is a simple running event held on 01/03/2027 at Lehigh Parkway in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with the LVRR Clubhouse listed as the location. The event covers a closed course in the park with a race distance of 5K.
The event is organized to continue in a variety of winter conditions. Participants may run in fog, snow, or rain. If the course is judged to be covered in ice, the route will be diverted to the main roads instead of the park trail.
Entry to the event is free. Registration opens 08/30/2026 and closes 01/02/2027 at 21:00. There is no race day registration. The event provides a 60 minute time allowance, which corresponds to a 19:35 minute per mile pace. There are no awards; the organizer notes informal bragging rights for running in cold weather.
The description above reflects the event plan and operational details provided by the organizer, including location, distance, registration window, entry fee, weather contingencies, and the stated absence of awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
