Sunday Training Run - Fort Worth
The Sunday Training Run is a weekly grassroots event held at The Trailhead in Fort Worth. This community gathering focuses on long-distance training and provides a space for participants to connect for accountability and shared experiences. The event is open to individuals of various fitness levels, including runners, walkers, and strollers.
The morning begins with a group round-up to share intentions for the session. This is followed by a group photo before the activity starts. Because participants often train for different upcoming races, attendees may finish their runs at different times depending on their specific distance goals.
The event is held rain or shine, and there is no cost to participate. However, as a grassroots gathering, the courses are not marked and no water stations are provided along the way. Participants are responsible for their own physical well-being and are encouraged to wear reflectors and headlamps.
Recommended distances and routes for the session include:
- 6 miles (Trinity River Loop)
- 6.5 miles (Overton Park Route)
- 9.5 miles (Colonial Route)
- 13.8 miles (Overton + Reverse Colonial)
The organizer suggests that new participants attend a Wednesday session before joining the Sunday morning training for the best experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
