Run-to-Read - Cultural District
The Run-to-Read event is held at Trinity Park in Fort Worth, Texas. This athletic gathering takes place at Trinity Park Pavilion #1 and serves as a celebration of National Literacy Month. The event is designed to support literacy programs and promote the literary arts while encouraging health and fitness within the community.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The races are chip-timed by Cox Racing Services to ensure accurate results for all participants. Awards are presented for the 5K category, including recognitions for Overall Master Male and Female, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 13 and under to 60 and over. Additionally, team-based awards such as Fastest Team and Largest Team are categorized.
Beyond the run, the event features a live DJ and various family-oriented activities as part of the broader Trinity River Book Festival. Registered participants are provided with a t-shirt if they complete their registration by the designated deadline in July. Packet pickup is available in the days leading up to the race at a local bookshop or on the morning of the event at the park location.
