The Sunburn Striders 5k & 10k takes place on August 15, 2026 at the Greensprings Interpretive Trail, 3751 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, VA. Distances offered:

The trail course is flat and runs through beaver ponds, wetlands and forests. It includes sections of wooden boardwalk and interpretive signs about the environment and local history. The 5k is a loop; the 10k is an out-and-back. Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is offered.
Logistics and services
Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. Early registration rates apply through July 31: 5k $30 and 10k $45. Prices increase after that date; race-morning registration is $5 higher than the prior rate. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before August 5; extras are first-come, first-served. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race-day registrants.
The 10k course has three water stations at about miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65; the 5k has one at about mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some stations. Port-a-johns are adjacent to the parking lot; parking is at the trailhead (GPS 37.249536, -76.787299). Awards include top three men and women overall and 1st/2nd in age groups; top three overall are not eligible for age-group awards. Live results are posted on Athlinks with a race QR code; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event. The organizer operates in all weather but may delay or cancel for conditions, with notifications sent to registrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
