2026 Sunburn Striders 5k & 10k
The event is scheduled for August 15 at the Greensprings Interpretive Trail in Williamsburg, Virginia. It offers two race distances and participates in multiple series; points count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
The trail loops through beaver ponds, wetlands and forests and includes sections of wooden boardwalk and interpretative signs about the environment, early colonists, American Indians and local wildlife. The course is described as flat. The 5k is a loop while the 10k is an out‑and‑back route.
Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical Drifit event shirt and chip timing. T shirts are guaranteed for participants registered before August 5; additional shirts may be available on a first come first served basis. Live results are posted online and a QR code at the event provides immediate access to results; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
Support and services include water stations along each course with Gatorade at some stations, portable restrooms near the parking area, packet pickup at the event and race day registration. Parking is available at the trailhead at 3751 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, VA 23185; a GPS pin is provided for locating the meeting point.
