About the race
Summit 50/50 is a trail ultramarathon presented by Reluctant Runner Racing at Allegany State Park’s Red House Area in Salamanca, New York. Now in its third year, the event offers three distances: 50 miles, 50K, and 25K. Runners traverse a looped course of about 16 miles that combines groomed trail, single-track, and rolling hills, enabling fast times for front-runners while retaining a challenging climb for others.
The route is well-marked with signs, arrows, and dragons and is supported by volunteers and two well-stocked aid stations. Spectators and runners alike enjoy forested vistas and a supportive community in a hidden park gem. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
