Nelson's Summit 50/50 : Allegany State Park, Salamanca NY
Nelson's Summit 50/50 is a trail running event organized by Salt City Trail Racing in the Red House area of Allegany State Park, Salamanca, NY. The event offers three distances on a looped trail course that combines groomed trail, single track, and rolling hills. The loop is about 16 miles with roughly 2,250 feet of elevation change, which makes actual race distances slightly longer than nominal values.
The event is USATF sanctioned and insured, Trail Sisters approved, and is a UTMB Index race. All entrants receive a pair of SCTR socks. Prizes are awarded to top finishers in each distance and gender division.
Aid support includes two well-stocked aid stations offering water, Skratch, orange slices, bananas, pickles, PB&Js, potato chips, pretzels, oreos, candy, and ice if conditions merit. A limited selection of hot foods will be available for 50 mile runners after mile 34.
Registration details include a published price range and an online registration close date. Refunds are not granted; deferrals are allowed for pregnancy, injury, or volunteer service if slots remain.
