Nelson's Summit 50/50, Salamanca NY
Nelson's Summit 50/50 is a trail running event organized by Salt City Trail Racing on October 24, 2026, in the Red House area of Allegany State Park near Salamanca, NY. The event is USATF sanctioned and insured, Trail Sisters approved, and listed as a UTMB Index race.
Distances offered include:
- 25km, about 16.1 miles, ~2,244 ft elevation, cutoff 6 hours
- 50km, about 32.2 miles, ~4,537 ft elevation, cutoff 9 hours
- 50 Miler, about 50.2 miles, ~6,873 ft elevation, cutoff 14 hours
The course is looped, built from groomed trail and single track with rolling hills; one loop measures roughly 16 miles with about 2,250 feet of elevation change, so total distances are slightly over nominal values. The course is marked with flags and signs and supported by two well stocked aid stations.
Aid station provisions include water, Skratch, ice if temperatures merit, orange slices, bananas, pickles, PB&Js, potato chips, pretzels, Oreos, and candy. A limited selection of hot foods will be available for 50 Miler runners after mile 34. All entrants receive a pair of SCTR socks and prizes are awarded to top finishers by distance and gender.
Refunds are not granted. Deferrals are available for pregnancy, injury, or volunteering when slots remain; distance changes are allowed until online registration closes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
