Holiday Valley Mudslide Obstacle Trail Run
The Holiday Valley Mudslide Obstacle Trail Run is an annual mud run held in Ellicottville, New York. The event features a trail course with 15 obstacles. The organizers specify that the course does not include fire, barbed wire, or electric shocks. Participants navigate through muddy terrain across several distances.
The event offers three distinct course options:
- 6.0 mile Mudslide Long Course
- 4.2 mile Mudslide Short Course
- Mudslide Kids Race
Both the short and long courses begin at the top of Morning Star, with access provided by the Yodeler lift. Runners follow the ridgeline toward Spruce Lake before circling back around the mountain to the Eagle area. At this point, the routes diverge. The 4.2 mile course heads downhill, while the 6.0 mile course incorporates additional uphill sections.
The Kids Race is designed for children aged 10 and under. Children under 10 are also permitted to participate in the short course if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. All participants are timed and receive a finisher’s medal upon completion. For those in the long course, entering the specific start window is required; otherwise, participants must switch to the short course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
