Marilla Trail Race
The Marilla Trail Race takes place at the Marilla Reservoir in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The event utilizes the local trail network characterized by rolling hills and dense forest scenery. Participants cross a historic covered bridge which serves as the finish point for the various distances.
Participants can choose from three distinct options:
- 14 Miles trail run
- 7 Miles trail run
- 3.7 Miles hike
The courses consist of off-road terrain, including gravel paths, dirt trails, and winding single track sections. Except for a single road crossing on the 14 Mile course, the routes remain entirely off-road. While the trails are described as mostly non-technical, the routes feature significant elevation changes due to the hilly landscape.
The event includes aid stations positioned throughout the courses to support participants. Timing is managed using chip technology to ensure accurate results. After the conclusion of the events, there is a gathering featuring food, awards, and prizes. All proceeds from the race are directed to the Tuna Valley Trail Association to support the maintenance and development of local trails in the Tuna Valley area.
