Summer Sizzler - Austin
The Summer Sizzler is an annual running event taking place in Austin, Texas. The race features a variety of distances to accommodate different participants, including options for timed and untimed runs. Organized activities include several road race distances and a specialized dash for younger participants.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 15k
- 10k
- 5k
- 1 Mile (untimed)
- Kid's Dash (50m untimed for ages 10 and under)
Registered participants in the 5k, 10k, and 15k receive a designer shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a custom bib. These races are chip-timed with live results and awards provided. The 1 Mile event also includes a shirt and medal but is not timed. For the Kid's Dash, registration provides a youth-sized shirt, a mini bib, and a specific medal, though children may also participate in the dash for free without receiving these items.
The event offers additional amenities such as free photos and refreshments at the finish line, including treats and Kona Ice. A volunteer-to-run option is available for those who assist with packet pickup before participating in a race distance. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option allows for remote participation. Group registration is available with potential partial refunds for teams reaching four or ten members.
