Summer Sizzler 5 km
The Summer Sizzler is a measured 5 km road race held in Cardiff on Wednesday 5 August 2026. The event uses chip timing and had online entry available; online entries are now closed. Pre-entry closed on Sunday 2 August 2026.
Entry fees are listed as £10 for affiliated runners and £12 for non affiliated runners. Entries on the day incur an additional charge of £2. Late registration is available on race day.
The organisers state an emphasis on low cost events and have chosen not to include finisher medals or T shirts. Category winner prizes are provided. Prize awards include first, second and third for male and female overall and age group winners in FV35, FV45, FV55, MV40, MV50 and MV60. The first burger or sausage item is provided free with the race number. There will be no barbecue on site this year but the club will offer barbecue style items from the kitchen. Presentation of awards will take place at Llandaff Rugby Club.
Race headquarters and late registration are at Llandaff Rugby Club, Western Avenue, Cardiff CF5 2AZ. The course is accurately measured and follows the same route used for Cardiff parkrun, starting and finishing on the Taff Trail alongside Tesco Extra. From the club the route to the trail passes over the footbridge, along Western Avenue toward the River Taff, then down the steps to the path between the river and Tesco.
