Summer Sizzler 5 Km
The Summer Sizzler is a regularly held 5 km measured race that began in 2010. Chip timing is used and online entries are reported as full for this edition. Pre-entry closed on Sunday 2nd August 2026 for this race.
Entry fees are listed as £10 for affiliated runners and £12 for non affiliated runners. Entries on the day incur an additional £2 charge. The organiser does not include finisher medals or T-shirts as part of the entry fee, but provides prizes for category winners and an included food item for the first burger or sausage with the race number.
Prize awards are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, and to age group winners in the listed categories FV35, FV45, FV55, MV40, MV50 and MV60. Presentation of awards takes place at Llandaff Rugby Club during the post-race BBQ arrangements. There will be no on-site barbecue, but the club will serve BBQ style items from the kitchen.
Race headquarters and late registration are at Llandaff Rugby Club, Western Ave., Cardiff CF5 2AZ. The course is the same accurately measured route used for Cardiff parkrun, starting and finishing on the Taff Trail alongside Tesco Extra. Directions from the club involve crossing the footbridge, following Western Avenue toward the River Taff, crossing the river and descending the steps to the area between the river and Tesco.
