Participants can choose from several event categories: SOLOIST, TEAM, "no-biking" SOLOIST, or "no-biking" TEAM. The event takes place in and around Lake Anna State Park in Virginia, finishing at a beach. It is sanctioned by USARA and scores points for the USARA national ranking and the Virginia State Parks Adventure Series.
Course & Activities
The race is an adventure race, described as an outdoor scavenger hunt using a map and compass. It involves multiple modes of travel, including on-foot travel, biking, and paddling. Participants navigate to find as many checkpoints as possible within the time limit. The team or individual with the most checkpoints wins, with the fastest time used as a tie-breaker.
