Summer Sizzle Adventure Race - Saturday
The Summer Sizzle Adventure Race takes place on June 13, 2026, at Lake Anna State Park, 6800 Lawyers Rd, Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA 22551. The weekend features two five hour adventure races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Entering both races qualifies the participant for a second race at half price.
Adventure Racing combines map and compass navigation with multiple travel modes: on foot, by bike and by paddling. Organizers supply a kayak or canoe with paddle and a lifejacket (PFD). Competitors receive high quality topographic race maps and race photography. A post race meal is provided. Registration fees cover parking, land use permits, insurance and equipment rentals.
Both races are sanctioned by USARA and award national ranking points. Both races also score points for the Virginia State Parks Adventure Series. Divisions include Soloist, 2 person, 3 person and 4 person teams, plus a Family Division for the four hour race. Custom awards are given to the top three finishers in each division; divisions are further separated by mixed, female and male categories.
