Event Overview
The Frosty 5K and Reindeer Run takes place on December 12, 2026 in Stafford, Virginia. The event is in its 10th year and is the final race in the 2026 Stafford Race Series. The race supports Gwyneth's Gift Foundation.
Events and Registration
The event offers two main races and a specific registration category:
- Frosty 5K: A 5K run/walk open to participants aged 5 to 110.
- 1 Mile Reindeer Run: A 1-mile run for children aged 12 and under.
- 5K Registration for Stafford School Employees Only: A registration category for school employees aged 18 and over.
Registration is online only, with no paper registration. Race packets will not be mailed and must be picked up in person. Race transfers or refunds are not allowed, but race insurance can be purchased during registration.
Course and Awards
The 5K course runs along the rolling hills of Mine Road and is USATF certified. The 1-mile course is also USATF certified. Prizes are awarded for the best costumes.
For the 5K, overall awards (based on gun time) and age group awards (based on chip time) are given. The 1-mile awards are based on gun time, with top finishers in age divisions receiving awards.
Participant Information
All finishers receive a long-sleeve race t-shirt and a custom finisher's medal. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
Strollers are permitted but must start at the back of the field. Dogs are not allowed on the course. There is a suggested time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the 5K. Headphones and earbuds are discouraged.
Location and Logistics
The event is located at 1600 Mine Road, Stafford, VA. Parking is free at Embrey Mill Park. Packet pick-up is available on the Thursday and Friday before the race in Fredericksburg and Stafford, and on race morning starting at 8 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
