Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Austin
The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon takes place at Lake Pflugerville Park in Pflugerville, Texas on August 15, 2026. The event offers in-person and virtual options and includes multiple distances for different ages and preferences.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash: about 20 yards, for children 10 and under
- 1 Mile: untimed, includes a tee shirt and race medal
- 5K (3.11 miles): chip timed, overall trophies and age-group awards
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles): chip timed, overall trophies and age-group awards
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): chip timed, overall trophies and age-group awards
- Volunteer then Run 5K: limited entries, includes chip timed bib and finisher medal
- Virtual Run (13.1 miles): virtual participation option
The course is typically on parks and green belts and may include paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths. Aid stations and water stations are provided on course. Results and awards are available at the registration tent immediately after finish. Awards include overall trophies, masters recognition pins, and standard age-group pins and medals across categories.
Packet pickup is offered beginning 1.5 hours before the race. Shirt availability is guaranteed up to 10 days before the event; sizes after that date depend on remaining stock. Volunteer roles vary from water stations and course monitors to lead bike and mascot; volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a prepaid digital gift card.
