Summer Burn 5K
The Summer Burn 5K is a first-year community running event held at Johnson City Brewing in Johnson City, TN. The event includes an in-person 5K and a kids dash for participants age 10 and under, plus a virtual option that allows finish verification by GPS screenshot or similar proof. Race items such as a T-shirt and finisher medal are provided to participants, and themed photo stations and post-race activities are planned. The on-site atmosphere will include local vendors, live music, and martial arts elements.
Proceeds and donations support the Cradic Cartwright Brain Alliance to raise awareness and funding for families affected by glioblastoma and to contribute to related research efforts. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, top masters and grandmasters, and age-group winners in standard age brackets. The kids dash also awards the top three boys and girls.
Packet pickup is scheduled at Johnson City Brewing on the day before or the day of the event. Registration follows published pricing tiers with early-bird, regular, and race-day fees and a separate fee structure for the Little Sparks kids dash. Participants who register by Saturday, June 6 are guaranteed a race shirt in their preferred size. Virtual participants can receive race items by pickup, local pickup at Natural Foods Market, or by mail with a shipping fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
